When you are down and out, move up and inward...

Chitra Sukhu - Friday, September 21, 2012

This universe leads you further within as you struggle with outward resistance, every step drawing you in as you try to find your way through. Deeper and deeper you go your sight growing dimmer as night falls. You must rest now and recupera
te from life’s last lesson. Give yourself the strength to move up and inward, to find the jewel in the rough so that you may conquer this realm and be through with this level of being. Your being is so much bigger than this tiny body you find yourself in...Many longings may plague you as you look around this world of individuals seeming to find one another; having the ability to merge hearts as love is found. Why does this elude you? You know your heart is scarred... fragmented into pieces as it struggles to heal itself, every line, and every piece able to tell a tale.
Why do you call these experiences into being?
Have you learned what you needed to learn?
Can you now choose love like so many others around you?
Do they truly love or is it just a play of their mind?

Life is the teacher, you are the student...

Chitra Sukhu - Wednesday, September 19, 2012

The flow of life brings you whatever you need in that moment; if you stop to look you are out of the flow. Flow, the inhale and exhale, the give and take... the opposites are at play showing you the way. You can step into the flow at any t
ime just tune into the breath your lifelong companion and you're right back in the flow. Each moment is a precious gift if lived in that moment, otherwise it is just us moving on the outskirts of life not fully participating... asleep in a dream... Awaken and live each moment, enjoy the gift of life.

Move within... it is the only way out...

Chitra Sukhu - Saturday, September 08, 2012

The experiment of life has been carried on for millennia. The cycle becoming arduous, it is time to break the cycle to return to wholeness. How do we do this? That is the million-dollar question. Once one has become exhausted trying out all that life has to offer, when there is nothing left to experience, when every pleasure has turned into pain and you are able to reflect and understand this truth, then it is time to turn your desire from life to eternity. Experiencing your true nature is transformative, once experienced the desire to experience again and to abide in your true nature becomes all-consuming. Meditation is the key to experiencing the true self.

Reality

Chitra Sukhu - Monday, September 03, 2012

Questioner: What is real in reference to the past?

Reality is seeing things as they are with no elaboration, no thought, therefore no mind, this can happen only in the present. Once the mind steps in you are either in the past or the future, in the past with your memories or in the future with your thoughts (based on your memories, beliefs and conditioning), therefore you’ve stepped out of the present moment, stepped out of reality (what is).

When we speak of history it is just that, his story, a story based on someone’s perception of events. If he was to relay the information as it actually was - not through the lens of beliefs and conditioning – but in actuality it would be impossible, because in the telling, thought has entered the game. As we know thought (future) cannot happen without memories (past).  We have again stepped out of reality the present.

The present is all there is… the past and future exist only in the mind…

YYTTC - Youth Yoga Teachers Training Course - Summer 2012

Chitra Sukhu - Wednesday, June 20, 2012

Summer is here and I have an amazing program scheduled for young adults ages 16 - 21. The Youth Yoga Teachers Training Course, this course allows you to deepen your practice, become certified instructors and be a light to the world. I always encourage everyone to take a yoga certified course whether they would like to teach or just for their well being, as it teaches concepts about life that are more valuable for day to day living than you can imagine. I've even made this course mandatory for my children who are now 14 and 18. It's a great time in life to learn about living; most of us think living is just surviving, but it's important to learn and understand that it's so much more than that. Through yoga you will gain the skills to move forward in your evolutionary progression, get the most out of life and enjoy your moments. It's not good enough to merely survive, that's a half life. Life is meant to be enjoyed as well, and this can only happen if you have the understanding and skills to really live life. To get the most out of life is an art, this is what we teach in our course.

Deepen your practice...

Chitra Sukhu - Monday, June 11, 2012
Yoga is the union of your individual self with the supreme self. The scriptures have prescribed four spiritual disciplines to eradicate your thoughts and desires so that you can attain a state of enlightenment. The four disciplines are Bhakti Yoga, Gnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Hatha Yoga. In the west Hatha Yoga predominates; asanas - postures are done daily to purify the mind body system allowing for our higher nature or true nature to shine forth. Each of these yoga's are a system in itself to bring about transformation and to unite us with our true nature. In the east they prescribe the four disciplines according to temperament. For someone who is intellectual or always inquiring Gnana Yoga is a good fit, for someone whose heart is open, Bhakti Yoga is prescribed, and for someone whose heart and mind are equally open they prescribe Karma Yoga. Hatha yoga is prescribed for all but is a preliminary step to awaken the heart and intellect, once the heart and intellect are awakened you can enjoy the benefits of the other yoga's.
